Draymond Green Warns New York Knicks About Potential Jalen Brunson Problem
Cary Edmondson-USA TODAY Sports

Even with all the parties who doubted what he could do for the New York Knicks, Jalen Brunson proved them wrong by putting up a great show on a nightly basis. But for Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green, the All-Star guard won’t be enough for his team to win a championship.

In the Knicks’ first round series against Joel Embiid and the Philadelphia 76ers , Brunson showed by the Dallas Mavericks made a mistake by letting him go a couple of years ago. In the span of six games, the point guard posted averages of 35.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 9.0 assists.

While his numbers looked great on paper, Brunson’s efficiency on the floor differs a bit. During that series against the Sixers, he shot 42 percent from the field, 30 percent from beyond the perimeter, and 77 percent from the free throw line.

Game 6 was a different story for Brunson as he showcased the full extent of his abilities to close the Sixers out. In that contest, the Knicks guard notched 41 points by connecting 48 percent of his field goals and 37 percent of his three pointers. He also dished out 12 assists and grabbed three boards. As a result, the Knicks were able to advance and face the Indiana Pacers in the next round.

Draymond Green Says Jalen Brunson Won’t Be Enough For New York Knicks To Win Championship

While a lot of people are amazed at Brunson’s evolution with the Knicks, Golden State’s Draymond Green doesn’t believe he’s enough for New York to win a ring. In a video shared by The Volume on X:

Although Green does make a point, five other New York players scored in double-digits against Philadelphia in their series . Add the fact that guys like Josh Hart, Donte DiVincenzo, and Miles McBride made an impact on the game even without needing a lot of touches, and there’s a way the Knicks to thrive.

Only time can tell whether Green is right or wrong in his assessment of Brunson. What’s certain, though, is that the Knicks All-Star guard has been proving everybody wrong since he first entered the league in 2018.
